We have selected to supply semi-seasoned timber for the following reasons:
1. It allows us to keep the costs down (dramatically) which we have passed directly onto you.
2. It allows you to take control of your log moisture, planning ahead rather than becoming reliant on a supplier to provide "ready to use" logs (which they often fail to do).
We recommend you get a moisture meter for yourself like this. You should then try your burner, stove or fire at varying moisture contents to see what works best for you.
Please note that timber that is too dry will burn to fast, more important in open fire or old fashioned stoves where you have less control over the air flow.
Please note that we declare our firewood moisture content daily, so there are no surprises.
We have selected to exclusively supply Larch firewood for the following reasons:
Fast Growing, so low price and "best value" energy
Grows on marginal soils so not competing, like other Biomass products, for food land
Good "Effective Heat value" - so burns hot keeping houses warm more efficiently
The moisture content of our Semi-Seasoned logs, today 22/05/2013 is: 29%
